Lake View City Council Developing Baseline Policy To Clarify Public Fund Use In Housing Developments

The Lake View City Council meet last week for a special session to discuss the city’s involvement in ongoing and future residential housing projects in the community. Work on the Landing at East Shore, a 26-unit duplex neighborhood on E. Shore Drive, is nearly completed, but Administrator, Scott Peterson, says there are at least two more proposed developments.
Peterson adds a third development on the southern shore of Black Hawk Lake is also in the very early planning stages. He says replacing and expanding Lake View’s aging housing stock has been a top issue for city leaders for quite some time. However, each development comes with a cost to the city’s taxpayers to install infrastructure. ....

Lake View City Council Considers Changes To Parking Regulations On Horseshoe Drive Near Camp Crescent

At their meeting last week, the Lake View City Council tabled discussion on an ordinance regarding parking on Horseshoe Drive near Camp Crescent. According to Administrator, Scott Peterson, residents and campground visitors are currently allowed to park their vehicles on the approximately 700-foot loop, which has caused a number of issues with traffic congestion.
While city officials did not take any action at last week’s meeting, Peterson expects them to make some sort of formal change very soon. Several Lake View residents attended the council’s June 21 meeting with questions about the parking restrictions. Peterson says their chief concerns were about which side of the street would be affected. ....
