Region of Waterloo staff have released the results of a survey aimed to gather feedback about temporary bike lanes installed across the region last summer and the results are mixed.
Temporary bike lanes a hit with cyclists, panned by drivers in survey
The Region of Waterloo put temporary bike lanes on some regional roadways last summer to increase active transportation options for people. A survey about the project has found vehicle drivers disliked the lanes because of perceived delays in travel. Cyclists, however, were happy with the bike lanes.

In a news release, police called it an emerging trend, prompting the creation of a dedicated team that combines the Waterloo Regional Police Service, Waterloo Fire Rescue Services and the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal.
