Fatal stabbing during home invasion leads to second-degree murder charges

Alberta RCMP major crimes unit have charged two men with second-degree murder after a man was stabbed during a home invasion on Ermineskin Cree Nation.
On April 11 Maskwacis RCMP responded to a call of a stabbing at 6:19 a.m. with emergency medical services, who treated 51-year-old Albert Dean Wildcat and took him to hospital.

Mounties say a man was fatally stabbed during a home invasion on Ermineskin Cree Nation two weeks ago.
The 51-year-old victim, Ermineskin resident Albert Dean Wildcat, died in hospital on April 15, four days after the attack.
Two people have been charged with second-degree murder in his homicide.
VICTIM DIES FROM HOME INVASION INJURY
Maskwacis RCMP were called to the First Nation on April 11 shortly before 6:30 a.m.
According to police, a number of suspects forcibly entered the home.
Police originally charged Leon Clark Ermineskin and Justin James Larocque with multiple offences, including aggravated assault. They were being kept in custody until court. ....

Last week, Alberta Education released the draft curriculum for K-6, saying the revised and strengthened K-6 curriculum is the result of more than a year of consultations with parents, teachers, and subject matter experts and is based on proven research designed to improve student outcomes across all subjects, following several years of declining and stagnant student performance, but many disagree.
Don Haywood, director of Sexual and Gender Acceptance Wetaskiwin, said he has two children in elementary school in Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools Division and he’s concerned about what he’s seen in the draft curriculum.
