CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - An annual two-day celebration of comic book culture is happening in Mount Pleasant.
Captainâs Comic Expo website says it features more than 100 exhibits including classic and modern comic books, artwork, artisans, cosplay and more.
The event is hosted by comic book store, Captainâs Comics and Toys located in Charleston. Owner of the store and event organizer, Mike Campbell, created the expo 13 years ago. ....

THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Davao Region is pushing for stricter trekking rules in Mount Apo after its monitoring team observed trash, vandalism, and traces of drug substances in the mountain.
In a statement, DENR-Davao said the monitoring and assessment team, led by Regional Executive Director Bagani Fidel Evasco, along with some officials and protected area conservationists, went on trekking during the long weekend to personally observe and assess the condition of the mountain.
The goal is to assess the trail conditions and campsite situation in order to determine and strengthen preservation and conservation mechanisms for Mount Apo, which was hailed as an Asean Heritage Site in 2011, DENR-Davao said, adding that it is considering putting up facilities for a more convenient trekking experience. ....

BILLINGS- Avalanche experts are issuing caution after two snow slides near Cooke City triggered by snowmobilers over the weekend.
He says, they were small slides, but big enough to tumble a rider off their machine.
âItâs an important reminder, that bigger avalanches are still possible,â said Zinn.
No one was injured.
But the slides have Zinn and other avalanche experts asking outdoor enthusiasts to remain vigilant and cautious as weather conditions are set to change in Montana. ....
