Electricity bill rebates extended until year end

PETALING JAYA: The two sen per kilowatt-hour (kWh) rebate for all Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) account holders will be extended for another six months from July 1 until Dec 31 but at a slightly reduced rate.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said 9.44 million TNB account holders will benefit, which he said would involve an additional allocation of RM493mil from Kumpulan Wang Industri Elektrik (KWIE).
The additional rebate will enable all TNB account holders to enjoy an average discount of 5% during that period, he said during a special online press conference on Monday (June 28). ....

Govt maintains ICPT rebate for July until Dec

(TNB) said the government has decided to maintain an ICPT rebate of two sen per kilowatt hour (kWh) during the period of ICPT implementation for all customers, including domestic customers, with monthly consumption of 300 kWh and below.
This ICPT rebate is partly the result of overall reduction in actual generation costs for the period of January to June 2021,” it said.
The utility giant said during the period of January to June 2021, there was a slight increase in average coal price in the global market at US$470.06 per tonne as compared to the benchmark coal price set in the base tariff at US$67.45 per tonne. ....
