3 Often the phrase “a good time was had by all” is said sarcastically or tongue in cheek but those words are perfectly accurate when describing recent U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Middle East District’s (TAM) guest speaking opportunities at Winchester’s STARBASE Academy.
STARBASE Academy is a Department of Defense program held at 70 locations across the United States, including Winchester, the only one in Virginia. The program strives to excite elementary school students about exploring Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as they continue their education.
TAM has had a long standing partnership with STARBASE Winchester and provided some of the first in-person speakers to be invited back since the start of the COIVD pandemic.

POCATELLO – A planned COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Sports and Orthopedic Center on the campus of Idaho State University in Pocatello will not be happening this week.
A news release from Southeastern Idaho Public Health District indicates all appointments are canceled because extreme weather across the U.S. is delaying this week’s vaccine shipment.
“Once Southeastern Idaho Public Health receives notification that the vaccine is on its way, SIPH will contact individuals to reschedule their appointments,” the news release says.

She referred to it as âThe Five Tâsâ: time, talk, tease, touch and trust. The couples I write about this week must have practiced this notion, because all three have been happily married for many years.
