There has been a slight drop in the number of people infected with coronavirus in England after lockdown measures were introduced, new figures show.
Data from the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS) infection survey shows an estimated one in 55 people in private households in England had Covid-19 between January 10 and 16, down from one in 50 people for the Christmas period of December 27 to January 2. ....

Universities are still continuing online lessons amidst the rising fears of the new COVID-19 strain in the UK. But, Indian students are not enthused about fully online classes.

The United Kingdom which is the sought-after destination for higher education among Indian students may take a backseat amidst the new lockdown and fears of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Overseas education consultants said that students who had earlier opted for a UK degree are now either switching to other countries like US, Singapore and Australia or choosing to stay back in India. ....

A year ago, this week, President Buhari, federal government ministers, state governors and over 70 senior Nigerian business leaders, were in London for the UK-Africa Investment Summit; arguably one of the biggest Nigerian delegations ever to visit the UK. The summit helped secured £364 million in announced deals between the UK and Nigeria. But above all, the summit was about connecting governments, businesses and investors with each other; matching UK capital and expertise with exciting projects and business initiatives. I was privileged to play a role in several of the summit sessions with African Heads of State and Government, including chairing panels on breaking down barriers to trade and encouraging investment in clean energy. And I had the privilege of meeting some truly inspiring Nigerian Female Tech Founders whom the UK-Nigerian Tech Hub have been supporting and mentoring. ....
