QUEZON CITY, April 29 (PIA)  The Philippines affirms relevant commitments enshrined in the outcome document of the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples fully anchored on the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act framework that reinforces the United Nations Declaration on Indigenous Peoples being conscientiously implemented by the Philippines towards the realization of Indigenous Peoples rights, an official of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples said.
The Philippines, together with partners and Indigenous Peoples, has implemented the Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Program (MIADP) that aims to sustainably increase agricultural productivity and integration in value-chains of organized Indigenous Peoples farmers and fisherfolk in the southern Philippines, Dahlialyn Dait-Cawed, Chief of NCIP External Affairs and Communication Division said in the Philippine statement delivered to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) in its discussion ....

The rights of indigenous people to make decisions about their cultural heritage and traditional way of life is being recognized in a United Nations photo exhibition.
The UN estimates there are some 476 million indigenous people in more than 90 countries around the world who have been denied the opportunity to control their own political, social, economic and cultural development.

The rights of indigenous people to make decisions about their cultural heritage and traditional way of life is being recognized in a United Nations photo exhibition.
The UN estimates there are some 476 million indigenous people in more than 90 countries around the world who have been denied the opportunity to control their own political, social, economic and cultural development.
