All LGUs required to automate business transactions by June – Manila Bulletin

All 1,600 LGUs have until June 17, 2021 to put up electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBoss) to streamline business permitting and licensing in their respective municipalities and cities to eliminate government red tape right at the grassroot level.
This was made possible with the signing of Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01 series 2021 on the Guidelines for Processing Business Permits, Related Clearances and Licenses in All Cities and Municipalities by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Department of Information, Communications and Technology (DICT).
With the JMC, local government units (LGUs) have until 17 June 2021 to put up an eBoss through the Business Processing and Licensing Systems (BPLS) of the DICT to automate their functionalities such as online submission of business permit applications, digital payment options, and issuance of el ....

City asks DITO to complete requirements for tower builds

CEBU City welcomes the third telco player Dito Telecommunity Corp., provided that the company complies with the requirements before putting up cell site towers.
Cebu City Councilor Eduardo Rama Jr., information and communication technology committee chairman, said despite minimizing the requirements in putting up cell site towers as mandated by the national government, the other requirements still have to be complied with.
In 2020, about 23 ongoing construction works of Dito cell site towers were issued a stoppage order by the Office of the Building Official (OBO) for illegal construction.
In August 2020, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) issued a joint memorandum circular (JMC) which reduced the requirements needed for the telco companies to comply with. ....

ARTA looks at 'Go Manila' app as model for own online portal

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) is looking at the Manila local government unit’s (LGU’s) Go Manila app to be the model for the mobile online portal initiative that the agency is proposing.
ARTA Director-General Jeremiah Belgica made the statement as the agency met with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and other Manila LGU officials to discuss ARTA’s findings on the capital’s Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS).
During their meeting, Belgica lauded the Manila LGU’s mobile app that aims to simplify the services and ease the conduct of transactions such that all services, including payment of utility bills. ....

ARTA inspecting LGUs' business one-stop shops

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) has started inspecting local government units (LGUs) to see if they are fully implementing their Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS) for this year’s business registration and business license renewals.
According to ARTA, the inspection, which started Thursday, aims to monitor the LGUs’ compliance with the provisions of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Law in relation to business permit application and renewal. 
The inspection, which was aired live over Facebook, was led by ARTA Director General Jeremihan Belgica in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). They inspected Quezon City and Pasig City Thursday and checked Manila Friday. ....

ARTA tells LGUs to fully implement business one-stop shops

In a Viber message, ARTA Director-General Jeremiah Belgica said that the compliance of LGUs will be based on the requirements of the Ease of Doing Business Act and other existing policies of ARTA and the departments of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Trade and Industry (DTI), and Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on BOSS. 
“We are calling on all LGUs to fully implement their Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS) for this year’s business registration and business license renewals,” Belgica said. 
“ARTA shall be conducting a series of on the spot surprise inspections starting [the] first working week of January, especially to NCR Cities and other Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs),” he added.  ....
