ENID, Okla. â Reported influenza numbers in Oklahoma, the United States and around the world alike are currently low this season as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.
Across the state, 149 cumulative hospitalizations and six deaths associated with the flu have been reported since Sept. 1, 2020, by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Garfield County has not reported any influenza-associated hospitalizations since Sept. 1. ....

STABBING INVESTIGATED: Enid police look for suspect in Sonic stabbing

The Enid Police Department is investigating a robbery and stabbing that happened Thursday evening at a local restaurant.Police are seeking a suspect in the case. Officers responded to a Sonic Drive-in at 8:02 p.m. Thursday, according to an Enid police news release, in reference to a robbery and stabbing.Officers spoke to an employee who said she saw a man walk up and order from one of the furthest stalls, according to the release. When she took the man’s food to him, he pulled a knife and told her to give him all her money. The woman said the man reached into her pocket and took her wallet while holding her at knifepoint. A male employee was taking out the trash and heard her yell that she was being robbed. The suspect began running south from the area and the male employee chased him, catching up to him a few blocks from the restaurant. 18-Year-Old Sonic Employee Stabbed While Defending Co-Worker In Enid Robbery, Police Say

ENID, Okla. -
Enid Police are offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information about a stabbing and robbery at a Sonic.
The crime occurred at approximately 8 p.m. Thursday, January 28 at the fast-food restaurant located in the 900 block of West Willow Road in Enid. A 19-year-old Sonic employee told police the suspect ordered from one of the furthest stalls of the business. When she went to deliver the man’s food, she said he pulled out a knife and demanded that she give him all of her money.
She said she was held at knifepoint as the suspect reached inside of her pocket and took her wallet, according to the police report. Police said an 18-year-old male employee was taking out the trash when the female employee screamed that she was being robbed. ....

First responders, health care workers asked to sign up for COVID-19 vaccines; 2 in area among 22 more deaths

ENID, Okla. â Enid area first responders and health care workers are being asked to sign up for COVID-19 vaccinations during an event on Thursday at Stride Bank Center, 301 S. Independence.
Only first responders and health care workers will be allowed to receive the vaccination, according to an email from Brandon Fetters, local emergency response coordinator for Alfalfa, Blaine, Canadian, Garfield, Grant, Kingfisher, Logan and Major counties.
