Two Missouri schools advance to Elite Eight of D-II Tournament
The Drury Lady Panthers, ranked number two nationally, are headed to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the fifth time in program history, after a dominating 88-69 victory over the Ashland Eagles in the championship game of the Midwest Regional, Monday night at the O’Reilly Family Event Center in Springfield, Missouri. Also, Central Missouri Jennies Basketball is headed back to the Elite Eight! The Jennies pulled away late from Nebraska-Kearney to win their eighth NCAA Regional Championship, 67-58, Monday night on their home court in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Drury improves to 22-1 on the season and 54-1 over the past two seasons and will be looking to make their third ever Final Four. Central Missouri is now 22-4 and will be going for their third national championship. This is the Jennies eighth NCAA Regional Championship, first since 2018. ....

The number two-ranked Drury Lady Panthers advanced to the NCAA Division-II Elite Eight Monday night with a win over Ashland.
The Elite Eight starts next Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio.

Missouri State University conferred more than 1,500 degrees during the fall commencement ceremony at JQH Arena on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019.
Missouri State altered plans for its May commencement so graduates can celebrate the accomplishment in person and in a timely fashion.
Nearly a year ago, colleges and universities in the Springfield area were struggling with the decision to postpone, cancel or dramatically pare down the annual celebrations. All those options were employed.
MSU President Clif Smart recently sought permission from the Board of Governors to move its May meeting up. The committee meetings will take place Wednesday, May 12 with the full board meeting occurring the morning of Thursday, May. 13. ....

It took overtime, but the Drury Panthers held off McKendree 82-77 at the Price Convocation Center in Lebanon, Illinois, on Thursday to win their fourth in a row.
Drury raised their record to 9-8 while dropping the Bearcats to 6-6.
The Panthers had a three-point lead in the closing seconds of regulation when McKendee’s Brendon Gooch hit a three-pointer with four seconds remaining that forced the game in overtime tied at 67-67.
Drury started the extra period on a 9-0 run and held off the Bearcats, outscoring them 15-10 in OT. ....
