A seven-year-old boy is living cancer-free one year after returning from months of treatment in Singapore.
Oscar Saxelby-Lee, from Worcester, underwent CAR-T therapy in Singapore with the help of £500,000 raised through crowdfunding.
A year on, his mother Olivia Saxelby said the family was doing amazingly well and counting our blessings after a difficult year.
Oscar is back at school but still needs treatment for other conditions.

WORCESTER schoolboy Oscar Saxelby-Lee continues to shoot for the stars with a space-inspired birthday celebration his family “were told we’d never see”.
Oscar turned seven yesterday (Monday) having come through the ordeal of pioneering and life-saving leukaemia treatment in Singapore that was not available on the NHS.
The appeal for £500,000 to fund the treatment was the fastest-growing campaign hosted by charity fundraising site Virgin Money Giving at the time.
The Pitmaston Primary School pupil inspired dozens of individuals, schools, sports teams, dance clubs and businesses pledge money and organise events in a bid to raise the mammoth sum needed to save his life and he returned in June, heading back to school in October having been cancer free for 10 months. ....

“KEEP our little warrior in your hearts” – that was the heartrending message from the parents of Oscar Saxelby-Lee after he returned to hospital on New Year’s Eve.
The upsetting update was posted on the Hand in Hand for Oscar Facebook page – a fundraising platform which helped the Worcester schoolboy get treatment for leukaemia in Singapore that was not available on the NHS.
Oscar and his family returned home in June and he went back to Pitmaston Primary School in October.
The page, ran by Oscar’s mum Olivia Saxelby, made clear the family has “no clear answers yet” with more than 1,000 well wishers offering messages of support inside 24 hours. ....

In a post on the Hand in Hand for Oscar Facebook page, Olivia shared pictures of the poorly schoolboy lying on a hospital ward with a cannula inserted into his arm.
She wrote: Unfortunately, this is the way we are entering 2021. We are absolutely devastated.
Not because of the date or the timing, nor because of how horrid it is to be going into a new year separated, but because our boy doesn t deserve any more pain.
