KANSAS CITY, Mo. â It didn t take long for 16-year-old Junior Thompson to hear about a Minnesota police officer shooting and killing 20-year-old Daunte Wright on Sunday.
We losing (sic) too many already, Thompson said. We don t need that to keep happening.
The chief of the Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, police department told media that believes the officer meant to use a taser during a traffic stop with Wright, but instead accidentally drew and fired her service weapon. ....

Four months after the Des Moines City Council approved a resolution calling for all the city’s homes and businesses to run on 100% clean energy by 2035, work is moving forward to begin the process of reaching that goal.

The redesigned sign has found a temporary new home at McClatchy Park after the Sacramento City Council voted unanimously in favor of the move.

SACRAMENTO, Calif A simple sign with a simple message has found a new temporary home at McClatchy Park after a vote by Sacramento City Council.
The sign is three words, Black Lives Matter.
The sign originally debuted at Curtis Park during the summer of 2020, the product of artist Zach Trowbridge. Officials said Trowbridge donated it to a local community group that later set it up at the park. ....
