Nonprofit notes: Helping homeless women, Oklahoma Hall of Fame, flu vaccinations and blood donations

Fundraiser to help homeless women
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City will host a Facebook Live event March 6 to raise money in place of their annual gala fundraiser. Local news anchor Amanda Taylor will host the event.
Catholic Charities’ Development Centers are dedicated to helping homeless women with immediate needs such as showers, laundry and groceries, as well as with long-term solutions like counseling, permanent housing, case management, and assistance with utility bills and rental deposits. Green Tie Gatherings is a way to help these women by making donations and bidding on auction items that include travel packages, jewelry, a guitar signed by Keith Urban and more.
Bidding begins March 1.

Oklahoma Caring Van Program Removes Obstacles To Help Keep Kids Healthy

An Oklahoma nonprofit on four wheels is making sure kids get the vaccines they need.
The Oklahoma Caring Van Program provides free immunizations of kids across the state, removing obstacles for Oklahoma families so kids can get the vaccines they need.
It is not just flu shots, said Fernnando Guillen with the Oklahoma Caring Van Program.
This is the mission of The Oklahoma Caring Foundation.
The Foundation too, started small- with a dream to be able to serve those in need across all of Oklahoma, voiced a narrator in a video posted on the nonprofit’s website.
You might have seen the Caring Van while you were grocery shopping or dropping your kids off at school. There are nine of them that travel year-round to serve families across the state. ....
