(WKBT) Human remains found off an embankment along Hwy. 53 south of Sand Lake Road on April 25 have been identified as those of Tyler D. Henry, who had been missing since Sept. 2, according to the Onalaska Police Department. The identification was determined from Onalaska police investigations and the findings from an autopsy done at Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation has not revealed any signs of foul play in the 36-year-old Onalaska man’s death, according to Onalaska police. “Our department is still awaiting the final autopsy report, which is expected to take several weeks to complete,” according to an Onalaska police news release late Thursday afternoon. ....

(WKBT) The Onalaska Police Department, in conjunction with the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office and the La Crosse Police Department, will host the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Dash Park in Onalaska. The program, which traditionally takes place during National Police Week, will pay tribute to fallen officers from area law enforcement agencies. The event will include a ceremony, music by select members of the Onalaska High School Band and light refreshments. Dash Park is at the southeast corner of Second Avenue, which also is State Hwy 35, and Main Street. ....
Onalaska Police continue to investigate body found off of Highway 53 April 26, 2021 6:08 PM Kade Overton Updated: “308 I’m on Scene” When officers arrived they found what was confirmed to be human remains with very little evidence around them. Onalaska Police Chief Charles Ashbeck said, “So it was partially decomposed some portions were bones and there was still some remains there.” Now the remains are at the La Crosse Medical Examiners Office where they hope to find out more. “We are just working now with the medical doctors to look for any possible signs of the cause of death if there was any foul play involved or not. Just what those types of investigations can reveal,” said Ashbeck. ....
