Wrongful death suit alleges overprescribing in case of woman who plowed into Bend cyclist, killing her

Several members of the Bend medical community have been added as defendants to a lawsuit against Shantel Lynn Witt, who was high on prescribed and nonprescribed drugs when she drove into and killed a cyclist in 2017.
Named parties of the suit against Witt now include doctors Kevin Rueter, Nancy Brennan and Laura Schweger, and local health clinics High Lakes Health Care, St. Charles Family Care, High Desert Personal Medicine and Mosaic Medical. The $34.5 million wrongful death suit also names Albertsons and Walgreens, which operate pharmacies Witt is said to have visited for years. ....
