Heroic Hannah raises over £10,000 for desperate Bangladesh street children

Heroic nine-year-old Lyndhurst Primary School pupil Hannah Miah has walked a total of 40km in an effort to raise money towards the desperate plight of street children in Bangladesh.
Warm-hearted Hannah’s initial target was to raise £1,000 for the cause, but she has so far raised over £10,000 - and donations are still coming in!
Hannah’s older sister Amana has also made £600 profit selling sweets, with 100% of the cash raised going towards Hannah’s charity.
Hannah’s proud dad Jewel said: “The support from everyone in the community has been unbelievable and has brought everyone together. ....

Parish Council signs up to Pledge to Peace

Saddleworth Parish Council have shown their support for the area’s thriving peace movement, by signing the Pledge to Peace.
The Pledge, which is administered by the Percorsi Peace Association in Italy, has been signed by organisations and individuals worldwide, reflecting their commitment to peace.
It pledges the Council to commit to working with other organisations across the area, and the world, to ensure that it stands up for peace.
Parish Council Chairman, Councillor Barbara Beeley, said: “We have unfortunately seen recently how easy it is for tensions to break, and for what seemed unthinkable to happen. ....
