MINERVA – The Board of Directors of Consumers Bancorp Inc. approved the appointment of Shawna L. L’Italien as a Class II director and Michael A. Wheeler as a Class I director, effective March 11. L’Italien and Wheeler were also appointed as directors of the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Consumers National Bank, effective March 11.
L’Italien, a Salem resident, is partner in the Salem office of Harrington, Hoppe and Mitchell Ltd and serves on the firm’s Management Committee. Practicing law since 1996, she focuses her practice on business organization, commercial and real estate transaction, succession planning, elder law and estate planning. She is a graduate of the University of Mount Union and The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. ....

Ohio has a long history of criminal justice reform and drug sentencing reform, and yet few can be pleased that Ohio still has the 12th highest incarceration rate in the country and one of the highest rates of overdose deaths. With the passage of HB1 and the failure of SB3 at the end of 2020, many are left wondering what can and cannot be achieved through legislative reforms in Ohio. Carlile Patchen & Murphy has appointed Jane Higgins Marx to the role of managing partner. She began the role Feb. 1 and is the third woman to serve as managing partner in the firm’s 53-year history.
Marx came to Carlile Patchen in 2000 after graduating from Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. She started as an associate and was promoted to a partner in 2010.

Resident-Led Racial Equity Task Force Seeks Applicants

Residents are invited to apply for a new resident-led task force to help increase racial equity throughout the city of Bloomington. The Racial Equity Task Force is being established based on recommendations of the City’s Plan to Advance Racial Equity, accessible at the City’s website here. This task force, dedicated to addressing broad issues of racism in the community and developing recommendations to address them, will comprise a broad selection of up to 15 residents. Bloomington residents interested in applying for a seat may complete this application by Monday, February 15, at midnight and will be notified of their selection by Tuesday, February 23. ....
