In south Marion County, the power may not come for all until next week

Though Portland General Electric still estimates it will be able to turn the power back on for all but approximately 15,000 customers by Friday night, there are areas where electricity won’t be returned until next week, officials said.
The Oregon Army National Guard will join with Marion County in performing welfare checks for vulnerable people on Monday.
Statewide, about 60,000 PGE customers were still without power Friday afternoon. Marion County had about 21,000 customers still without power, according to PGE vice president Larry Bekkedahl.
He said about 12,000 of those are in Salem and about 2,400 are in Silverton.
“That’s one of the hardest areas and currently we have five crews there that are doing restoration, but we’re also trying to reach other areas throughout the service territory and restore power to other areas as well,” Bekkedahl said. ....
