What does it take to stand out among thousands of competitors?
Four Cal State Fullerton communications students, whose work took top honors in national and statewide competitions in fall semester, share how it takes passion, resilience and opportunities to practice and master a craft. Here are their stories of success:

“Solipsism” (Daily Titan) won 1st place, Best Comic Strip at the College Media Association 2019-20 Pinnacle Awards
The comic is the combination of my interests art, philosophy, marketing and design.
During summer 2019, we were brainstorming ways to refresh the Daily Titan’s leisure page, and a comic was the first obvious choice. The challenge was that it meant nearly 50 complete comics for a single semester no small task. ....

W&M Society of Physics Students wins Outstanding Chapter Award

Outstanding Chapter:
Maybe they came to the pre-pandemic PhysicsFest for the liquid nitrogen ice cream, but they stayed for the science. William & Mary’s chapter of the Society of Physics Students earned top honors, with the SPS national office bestowing an Outstanding Chapter Award on the organization, citing contributions to activities such as the annual PhysicsFest open house.

Marshall physics group earns Outstanding Chapter award from national Society of Physics Students

“It’s been a pleasure to be a part of this organization and to work with AIP, the community, Marshall University, Dr. McBride, and each other as we achieved our goals,” Sizemore said. “I look forward to one more semester with this outstanding group.”

“Receiving the SPS Outstanding Chapter award is such an honor for the physics department at Marshall University and for all of our members who have worked so hard to maintain an active club and bring science to our communities,” White said.

“I am very excited and pleased for these students that their hard work and self-driven determination to be successful has been recognized nationally. These students have done a phenomenal job with assisting in recruitment, outreach, and interacting with various types of communities on and off campus,” McBride said. ....

The National Alumni Association of Alcorn State University broached a subject of significance that brought the 2019-2020 academic year to closure. The virtual 30th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 5. The occasion of gratitude and jubilance reflected on support, contributions and achievements of persons who provided exemplary service via commitment, professionalism, citizenship, faithfulness, character and leadership.
