Puducherry MP urges Union finance minister to defer instalment of loans | Puducherry News

PUDUCHERRY: Congress Lok Sabha member V Vaithilingam has urged Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman to allow deferment of instalments of loans availed by people employed in micro, small, medium industries and also self-employed people as they have lost their income due to lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
In a letter, the MP urged the minister to allow extension of the moratorium for payment of interest for a six-month period for the people who availed loans.
Vaithilingam also requested her to defer the payment of advance tax (income tax paid in advance for the income earned in a particular financial year) from the first quarter to the second quarter of the fiscal year 2021-22 due to this unprecedented situation. ....

EBRD to extend 60 mln euros loan to Bulgarian Eurohold

SOFIA, June 9 (Reuters) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday it would extend up to 60 million euros ($73.10 million) in a five-year senior loan to Eurohold for its acquisition of Czech CEZ’s Bulgarian assets.
Bulgarian financial and insurance group Eurohold will use the proceeds from the EBRD loan, along with a planned capital increase and other senior loans to complete its 335 million euro deal with CEZ by the end of June.
Eurohold has mandated JP Morgan to structure the debt financing for the overall acquisition, which it sees at about 490 million euros. The EBRD estimated the total costs at 525 million euros. ....

MONETA shareholders urged to vote against Air Bank deal

PRAGUE (Reuters) -Two investor advisory firms have recommended MONETA Money Bank shareholders vote against a plan to buy investment group PPF’s Czech and Slovak lending assets, saying the price may be too high.
It was not clear what impact the recommendations from Glass Lewis and Institutional Shareholder Services could have on the June 22 shareholder vote on the two-part deal.
The tie up is the groups’ second attempt in two years to create a Czech banking giant to compete with larger rivals.
If approved, the deal would give PPF majority control in MONETA, the country’s sixth largest bank. ....
