Bulldozers rolled into the Town Neck Beach parking lot , Thursday, January 28 in anticipation of a very large special delivery.
On Monday morning, weather permitting, the town of Sandwich will be receiving about 15,000 cubic yards of sand from the town of Bourne.
Natural Resources Director David J. DeConto said Town Neck Beach will be closed to the public for at least the next two weeks as the earth moving equipment place the sand on the beach and grades it into place.
“We would love to use the sand to fill in the dune from the west end to the boardwalk, but we don’t know how far we can get it to stretch,” Mr. DeConto said. ....
