(ANSAmed) - RIYADH, DECEMBER 14 - An explosion was
reported off the port of Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia, on board a
tanker owned by a shipping company from Singapore which said
that the blast, followed by several fires, was of external
origin .
Saudi authorities did not immediately confirm the explosion,
which, according to the Office of Maritime Trade Operations
(UKMTO) of the United Kingdom, occurred on Sunday in front of
the key port on the Red Sea, a distribution center of Saudi oil
giant Aramco.
