TOKYO: “My aim is to continue to improve my personal best. I’ll take it slowly, starting with (going for) 11.6 seconds (s) next year, InsyaAllah.”
That was the reaction of national speedster Azreen Nabila Alias after the end of the first round of the women’s 100-metre (m) race at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics here today.
The 21-year-old said she would use the experience and lessons gained from competing at the world’s biggest multi-sports Games to improve her performance. ....

Ocean Games brought sun, swimming, and awareness to brain injuries

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The 9th annual Ocean Games open water swim was held on Saturday, and swimmers from across the region and beyond came together to not only compete, but bring awareness to brain injuries.
Corey Davis, event organizer and a brain injury survivor tells us, he started the event as a way to exercise and donate money to John’s Hopkins, who helped rehabilitate him after his motorcycle accident. Now he says, he’s thankful for how much the event has grown and so many people want to help his cause.
Davis tells 47 ABC, physical activity helped get him to where he is today, standing, talking, swimming, and many other activities. However, now the games have expanded beyond what he ever thought, and he says he’s happy other people want to help bring awareness as well. “It helps people’s attitude and gives people drive you know, something to look up to,” says Davis.
