This past year was undoubtably one of the toughest bottom-line years for Shekeya McCallister.
âI worked for a non-profit organization but I lost my job. I was able to obtain another job. However, the start date never came because of COVID,â said the Killeen woman.
McCallister went months filling out job applications, looking for a way to support her family, but her troubles didnât stop there.

Northland s chief environment watchdog is warning people planning to burn unwanted waste material this autumn to follow the rules or risk stiff penalties, including court action.
The warning by the Northland Regional Council follows an average of 252 burning and smoke nuisance complaints it receives each year, or 25 per cent of all incidents reported on its Environment Hotline. ....

At the February 18 Council virtual meeting, the Mushroom Council® elected new officers for 2021.
Chairperson: Sonya Beltran, director of operations, Masda Mushrooms/First Generation Farms, Toughkenamon, Pa.
Vice-Chairperson: Curtis Jurgensmeyer, CEO, J-M Farms, Miami, Okla.
Secretary: Emily Bettencourt, director of quality assurance and safety, Global Mushrooms, Gilroy, Calif.
Treasurer: Mark Moran, Kaolin Mushrooms/South Mill Champs, Kennett Square, Pa.
The nine-member Council is comprised of eight domestic growers and one importer representing four regions. The program s purpose is to maintain and expand existing mushroom markets and uses. Members are:
