TECT trustees have agreed to go ahead with a structural change that will see the trust wound up within 30 years - which will also spell the eventual end of TECT cheques.
The decision followed Trustpower s announcement in January that it was undertaking a strategic review of its retail business, including a possible sale.
It also follows a month-long consultation period with its Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust beneficiaries.
People who were customers of Trustpower as of January 28 are expected to continue to receive a rebate from TECT for the next 30 years, provided the funds are there. ....

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Sikandar Sultan Raja has ordered gradual multi-faceted organisational changes to enhance the capacity of the institution so that it could carry out its constitutional duties in a more efficient manner.
Some significant organizational changes of the first phase include: 1. The Information Technology Department has been restructured for more efficient use of technology in the next elections under which new posts of project director (duplication), project manager, electoral technology and project manager, data centre/printing have been approved and individuals in these positions will be contracted for a fixed period of time in exchange for an attractive salary. They will work to formulate and implement strategies to ensure the use of election-related technology. ....

COVID crisis risks aggravating inequality in Italy says OECD - English

(ANSA) - ROME, APR 14 - The OECD said in a report on Wednesday that the COVID-19 pandemic risks increasing inequality in Italy and it said improving the effectiveness of the civil service is crucial for the recovery from the economic earthquake caused by the pandemic.
A central pillar of the recovery strategy is how to maximise the effect of the Next Generation EU Funds, especially for investment, which have the potential to boost long-term growth and employment, the OECD said in its Going for Growth 2021 report.

Minister Harris launches national staff and student surveys on sexual violence and sexual harassment in Higher Education Institutions
A ground-breaking survey into staff and student experiences of sexual violence and sexual harassment in Irish Higher Education Institutions is being launched today (April 12) by Simon Harris T.D., Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.

The survey, which will begin today and will be conducted by the Higher Education Authority, will be sent to every student and staff member by their Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). There are over 30,000 staff and 235,000 students in higher education. ....
