Pomfret proclamation salutes municipal clerks | News, Sports, Jobs

A proclamation, issued by Town of Pomfret on April 14 resolves that the week of May 2 through May 8 is designated as ” Professional Municipal Clerks Week.”
Unanimously adopted by town of Pomfret the Proclamation extends appreciation to all Municipal and Deputy Clerks for the services with which they provide their communities. Specifically, the Proclamation cites that the Clerk “serves as the professional link between the citizens, the local governing bodies and agencies of government at other levels.”
The Proclamation was presented to Allison Vento signed by Supervisor Daniel Pacos. It also honors Municipal and Deputy Clerks for “continually striving to improve the administration of their duties through participation in education programs, seminars, workshops and annual meetings of their state, province, county and international professional organizations.” ....

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Lake effect snow will target portions of the Buffalo metro area, the southtowns and southern tier for the first part of the weekend.
Conditions will be right for lake effect snow bands to develop off the eastern end of Lake Erie and target the southern portion of the metro Buffalo area, southern Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties into Saturday.
A Winter Weather Advisory is posted for the Buffalo metro area for 5 to 8 inches of snow through Saturday, mainly south of the city, and a Lake Effect Snow Warning is posted for the southtowns and southern tier where a potential 6 to 12 inches of snow could accumulate. ....
