Five Sentenced to Jail Time in District Court


According to District Attorney Micheal Murray, felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court with Judge Mike Smith, presiding.
Margaret Marie Harper, pled guilty to the felony offense of Intoxication Manslaughter with Deadly Weapon and was sentenced to Eighteen (18) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Further, Harper, pled guilty to three separate counts of the felony offense of Intoxication Assault with Deadly Weapon and was sentenced to Ten (10) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Harper was the drunk driver who drove into a front yard and hit four people, including two children, killing one of them, in late June of 2020. ....
