A new remote learning device has enabled engineering students at the University of Limerick to recreate a lab environment from home.
The technology developed by Analog Devices is allowing over 400 UL students to learn the fundamentals of electrical and electronic engineering from the safety of their home.
The partnership has assisted these students in overcoming the challenges to off-campus teaching and learning presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is one of the first approaches in Europe to build a structured curriculum for fully remote experimental learning.
The digital learning partnership was officially launched at a virtual event hosted by UL’s Bernal Institute this Wednesday, attended by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar, Minster for Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science ....

Prof Suresh Chander Map of Jammu Division J ammu’s neglect has been recognised ever since the power in the State of Jammu and Kashmir exchanged hands in 1947 from Maharaja Hari Singh to the National Conference headed by Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah. The Jammu’s voice at that time was represented by Praja Parishad. It launched an agitation ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan’ in early 50s. Perhaps the leadership of Praja Parishad thought that once their demand of ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan’ is met then all regions and its people will be treated equally under the constitution of India. Unfortunately the agitation did not have a logical end in spite of supreme sacrifice of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee in this cause. This perhaps was due to weak opposition and the general ignorance about Jammu in the rest of the country at that time. N.C A&T Receives $3M Gift For College Of Engineering

The College of Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University is getting a huge financial boost. It s one of several gifts the school has received in recent months.
The $3 million investment in the College of Engineering comes from the Dominion Energy Foundation and will provide scholarships for students seeking careers in engineering and computer science.
The gift is part of Dominion’s “HBCU Promise,” a program directing funding to eleven institutions in Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, and South Carolina. ....
