FREMONT â The Fremont Plan Commission offered guidance Tuesday to property owner Kimberly Rumsey, 1751 W. Toledo St., for her plan to operate a firearms store out of her garage, basically that she needed either proper zoning or a special exception to do so. Rumsey said she plans to start and run a firearms store, largely by appointment only, out of her garage with minimal traffic. âOur federal firearms license will be for manufacturing activity, none will take place,â Rumsey said. âItâll just be putting parts together.â She also said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms would contact the town about her. ....
(KNSI) – St. Cloud DFL Senator Aric Putnam is hosting a virtual town hall this week about the COVID-19 vaccine and the distribution process within the state. “We all know these are challenging times, but we also see some light at the end of the tunnel,” Putnam said in a press release. “Still, we need to have open communication to make sure we get out of the tunnel. This is a chance for our whole community to learn about the vaccine and get all our questions answered.” Putnam will be joined by three public health professionals: Lynn Bahta, public health nurse and clinical consultant for the Minnesota Department of Health’s immunization program, Kathy Parsons, CentraCare’s vice president of population health and executive director of the Central Minnesota Health Network, and Dan Kitzberger, legislative director for the MDH’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout. ....
West Georgia has several resources working toward the common goal of finding affordable housing for homeless individuals, including nonprofits, coalitions and faith-based organizations. While the issue of homelessness may never be eradicated, these community leaders said they are trying to lessen the impact across the region by providing transitional programs for the homeless. Kathy Parsons is the founder of Impact West Georgia, a nonprofit fighting to help the homeless and other underprivileged communities. Since the organization opened its doors in Carrollton in 2004, the nonprofit has helped transition numerous homeless people from central and west Georgia into homes. The purpose of the organization is to improve the quality of life of the homeless, veterans, immigrants and children. ....
