As Internet culture changes, parents should take care to have conversations with their children about their web use.
Recently, a Canadian man was convicted of trying to lure a 15-year-old Peterborough teen by posing as a 14-year-old on social media. Robert Paul, 19, of Lower Sackville in Nova Scotia, Canada, was convicted of luring and providing explicit material to a child in relation to the case.
Initially, according to Sgt. Rick Nelson of the Peterborough Police Department, the girl didn’t even come to police about the inappropriate photos that had been sent to her by Paul, instead reporting a separate harassment issue that ultimately did not lead to any charges. During the course of that investigation, however, police discovered the girl’s communications with Paul and began to investigate further, in conjunction with a their affiliate, New Hampshire ICAC Task Force and the Canadian Internet Child E ....
