Kano orders closure of restaurants, bakeries, bottled water factories without health certificates

The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) has ordered the immediate closure of all restaurants, bakery, bottled water factories and other food processing companies without a health certificate.
The Acting Managing Director of the Council, Hon. Dr Baffa Babba Dan’agundi gave the directive on Friday afternoon after the expiration of a two-week grace period issued to all concerned.
This was contained in a statement signed by Information Officer, KSCPC, Comrade Musbahu Aminu Yakasai, a copy made available on Friday to pressmen in Kano.
According to him, the order became pertinent in view of a recent discovery of Hepatitis-B and other dangerous communicable diseases patients working at such restaurants and other places mentioned above. ....

The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) says it has confiscated expired and counterfeit drugs and other products worth N100 million in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano by Mr Musbahu Yakasai, the Public Relations Officer of The council.
Yakasai quoted the acting Managing Director of the council, Alhaji Baffa Dan-Agundi, as saying that the products were confiscated following raids on some markets within Nano metropolis. ....
