Update, 5:40 p.m.: The family issued the following statement to Clarksville Now, including a plea for information about the wreck.
“We are extremely heartbroken and puzzled to learn this news. Jasonah was a sweet, loving, intelligent young woman. She was so excited about her first year at APSU. Jasonah is from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and graduated from LaVergne High School near Nashville. She was studying to become a pediatric nurse. If anyone has any details pertaining to events leading up to the accident, please let us know.”

Search underway in Clarksville after vehicle crashes, goes into the Cumberland River

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â First responders in Clarksville are looking for anyone who may have been inside a vehicle that witnesses say went into the Cumberland River Tuesday night.
The vehicle reportedly left the roadway and entered the river near Riverside Drive and W. Washington Street near the RJ Corman Bridge.
Witnesses saw the vehicle crash and go into the river. No one was seen exiting the vehicle.
Multiple agencies are currently on the scene helping with the including Clarksville Fire and Police, along with the Montgomery County EMS and the Montgomery County Resque Squad. ....

Update, 1:20 p.m.: Strong currents in the Cumberland River and cold weather are making conditions too dangerous for divers to continue recovery attempts for now, according to EMA Director Ed Baggett.
“We think we probably have found the vehicle. We’re not positive, but we’re pretty sure we’re in the right location,” Baggett told Clarksville Now.
“Right now we’re waiting on the current of the river. If we can get the current slowed down – but of course the dams are wide open. We’re waiting for them to shut the dams down so the current will slow,” he said. ....

Search resuming this morning for vehicle that went into river in Clarksville

A search effort is resuming this morning after multiple people saw a vehicle go into the Cumberland River Tuesday night in Clarksville.
Witnesses said the automobile left the roadway in the area of Riverside Drive and West Washington Street and go into the water just north of the RJ Corman Bridge.
Multiple agencies were unsuccessful in searching for the vehicle and they were set to reconvene this morning, according to Clarksville police.
