Show Transcript A SACRAMENTO GROUP WANTS TO BRING MORE AWARENESS TO HEALTHY LIVING AND BEING ACTIVE. THE ORGANIZATION IS CALLED BLACK MEN RUN. IT’S A NATIONAL GROUP THAT STARTED IN GEORGIA, BUT HAS LOCAL CHAPTERS, LIKE THE ONE HERE IN SACRAMENTO. THE GROUP’S CAPTAIN SAYS NUMBERS FOR HEALTH PROBLEMS LIKE HEART DISEASE, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, AND DIABETES ARE OFTEN DISPROPORTIONATELY HIGH IN BLACK MEN. HE SAYS THE GOAL OF THE GROUP IS TO HELP MORE BLACK MEN BECOME ACTIVE TO BATTLE THOSE CONDITIONS. EVERYONE IS WELCOME. IT DOES NOT MATTER YOUR FITNESS LEVEL. IN FACT, WE ENCOURAGE PEOPLE WHO ARE A BIT NERVOUS ABOUT COMING OUT TO JUST COME OUT. WE WILL WORK WITH YOU. WE WILL NOT LEAVE YOU BEHIND. NO MAN LEFT BEHIND.
