Like most Americans across the country, the Latino community and communities of color are ready to move on from the economic devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as the media has consistently reported, communities of color have felt the brunt of the pandemic and need immediate access to stimulus assistance and emergency financing. 
For people who have lost their jobs and their small businesses, help in keeping the most important financial asset the family home is key in bringing back better our communities’ economic stability and prosperity. Economic policy aims should assure that current or new homeowners will have fair access to mortgage financing and that it will be available to communities who traditionally have been underserved by traditional banking. ....

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - It’s no secret that COVID-19 has shined a light on disparities in health care and treatment. The issue now is what to do about it.
A group of Black doctors participated in a webinar panel hosted by MJH Life Sciences entitled ‘Color and COVID-19: The Virus’ Disproportionate Impact.’
First, they showed the numbers and higher death rates for people of color from COVID-19. They shared how this last year will impact generations and identified some of the causes, including structural racism. ....

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Despite ongoing efforts by the county and health systems to roll out the new COVID-19 vaccine, experts say communities of color find it challenging to trust the system.
Roberto Alcantar with the Chicano Federation says tackling a mindset may be harder than tackling the virus.
Historically, we have seen that in the black and brown community, there has been a general distrust of government, Alcantar said.
New data from the Pew Research Center shows that only 42% of Black Americans say they would get a COVID-19 vaccine once it is available. In comparison, 61% percent of white, 63% of Hispanic, and 83% of Asian populations say they would get the vaccine. Not because they are anti-vaxxers. Instead, many attribute that number to the Tuskegee Syphilis Study. ....
