Main Street parklet touted as place to bring people together Parklets are coming to the PNC Plaza in downtown Fort Wayne. The public spaces known as parklets are designed to support downtown businesses and encourage community engagement, a Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District news release stated. The space will span a portion of the western edge of the PNC building parking lot on Main Street next to Sweets on Main. The area is traditionally where “Santa and His Reindeer” is displayed. The area will include outdoor dining tables and chairs, a life-size chessboard, and a mural installation provided by Art This Way. The parklet, which will be open during summer and fall, is designed to connect access points throughout the city from The Landing and Promenade Park to Embassy Theatre and Parkview Field. ....

Feb 17, 2021 11:44 AM Clyde Vernon Poll, age 86, of Holland, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, following a heart-related condition. Clyde was born January 23, 1935, to Henry and Jennie Poll and grew up in Holland. In October of 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Ethel Jager, who preceded him in death in 2010 after 54 years of marriage. While raising his family, camping adventures were many and the home was a place of faith, love, and laughter. Clyde was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed restoring antique cars and scooters, building creations out of erector sets, and puttering around in his workshop. Clyde worked for many years at Holland Transplanter Company. Over the years he did much touring in antique cars, visited many car shows and flea markets, and was an avid collector of toy trucks, trains, and whatever caught his interest.
