Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar has lashed out at Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadiâs remark, dismissing it as baseless, saying that it was best to ignore it and that Mumbai had no connection with Karnataka. âThe Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka has made this argument to please the people of Karnataka,ââ he noted.
âMumbai belongs to Maharashtra. It was ours yesterday, is ours today and will be ours in the future, too. Nobody can change this. Everyone knows it. Hence, there is no need to pay attention to what he said. In my opinion, he should be ignored,ââ opined Pawar. ....

Amid sparring with Karnataka leaders over the Belgaum issue, the Maharashtra Government has re-released an old documentary which makes a case for inclusion of Belgaum and some other border areas in the state.
The 35-minute black and white film titled A case for justice , produced by the Maharashtra government 50 years ago, has now been released on YouTube in digital format.
In view of the prevailing situation in the Marathi-speaking areas of Karnataka, chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray directed that the film be made available for public, a release from his office said on Thursday. ....
