Dunfermline: Fife Council officers back Shepherd Offshore plans


PLANS for a new £180 million super campus at Halbeath should be approved despite concerns over how it might affect the wider area, Fife Council officers have said.
They ve recommended the green light for Shepherd Offshore s proposals, which would see a new Fife College and replacement high schools for St Columba s and Woodmill built on the former Hyundai site by 2024.
The application for planning permission in principle for a mixed use development also includes a nursery, a 90-bed care home, 17 assisted living apartments, a pub/restaurant, coffee shop drive-thru, 16-pump petrol station and 225 homes.
The proposals are being led by the council, Fife College and landowner Shepherd Offshore but have not been without controversy. ....

Police officers in Tayside and Fife used unprecedented new coronavirus powers to intervene in public life over 9,000 times last year.
The incidents include gatherings indoors and outdoors, after it was made a criminal offence to breach social distancing rules.
The force approached members of the public 9,046 times between March 27 and November 22. ....
