“Let’s not wait for art directors to give us jobs,” Cowles says, “let’s do something that we really love.”

Heroes. We love heroes. We need heroes to get us through tough times. Cowles and Gosfield have given us 63 heroes, as defined by 63 artists, for this moment in a new art-driven magazine,
Public Eye.
There are distinctive portraits of heroes of the moment, such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and Stacey Abrams. Heroes of the long past, who are still relevant today: Frederick Douglass. Heroes such as an artist’s mother. Or boxer Jack ....

The COVID-19 pandemic killed the skinny jean trend

There’s good news for Americans who packed on the pounds during the pandemic — skinny jeans are no longer in style.
Levi Strauss & Co. CEO Chip Bergh says consumers are getting away from the hipster-inspired look of at least the past decade.
“Cycles do come and go,” he told CNBC. “I think the pandemic definitely played a contributing role to consumers looking for a more comfortable, more relaxing denim.”
According to Bergh, his denim-maker’s sales started last year were boosted by one new jean design that ballooned out at the bottom, and a second style that was loose fitting with a high-rise at the waist. ....

“We got it approved,” Mr. Matteson, agricultural coordinator for the Jefferson County Economic Development Agency, said. “We’re very excited. This is a real parade.”
City Manager Kenneth A. Mix and Jefferson County Board of Legislators Chairman Scott A. Gray both signed off on having the parade this year, as long as COVID-19 cases remain low. ....

New wife can't stop thinking about husband's old girlfriend |

Dear Abby,
I’m a young wife. I married after three months of dating my military husband. He was previously in an on-again/off-again relationship that lasted about eight years, during which she had a baby with another man, etc. I believe my husband is still in love with her. After constantly asking him, he says he just wishes her well and he doesn’t have any romantic feelings. I’m not sure what to do, and I just keep overthinking it. Any thoughts?
Hates Husband’s History
Stop torturing your husband — and yourself — by constantly asking him about his feelings for his unfaithful ex-girlfriend. Get to work building your self-esteem, and you will have less to worry about. Your husband’s history (baggage) is his own. You are making a mistake by dragging it into your marriage. If you concentrate on the positive, you will have a happier marriage, and so will your husband. ....
