The Coimbatore-based youngster recently received the State award from the International Institute of Tamil Studies, for his painting, based on Chapter 112 from the Thirukkural Nalam Punainthuraithal (which comprises kurals 1111 to 1120). He received the award from the Minister for Tamil Official Language, Tamil Culture and Archeology, K Pandiarajan on February 24 in Chennai.The Thirukkural Oviya Potti is held every year and the announcement for this year’s contest was made in January. The paintings were submitted by February 3. ....
