The owner of a backpacker hostel in Picton has offered to sell his property to help house the 200 workers needed to build a new multimillion-dollar ferry terminal. The project – a partnership between Port Marlborough, the Marlborough District Council, KiwiRail and Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency – was approved last week and is needed to accommodate KiwiRail’s new larger ferries.
