Kempsey Shire Council’s innovative water sustainability program continues to pave the way for students across the Macleay Valley to receive a practical education on the importance of water conservation and preservation.
Over 15 schools in the Shire have joined Council’s Waterwise Schools Program which encourages students to use water responsibly and sustainably.
Students at Kempsey Adventist School were recently presented with the very first Waterwise Trophy for completing their refresher course delivered in partnership with Council by educators from the Cascade Environmental Education Centre. It highlights information on local catchments, water use, water conservation and human impacts on waterways. ....

Even before the Green Worcester Plan was implemented, the Water and Sewer Operations of the Department of Public Works was working on conservation efforts and ways to better use technology to improve the city s drinking water.
Those efforts were recently rewarded with a 2020 Public Water System award for energy conservation from the Massachusetts Environmental Protection Agency. The Robert Moylan Jr. Water Filtration plant was the recipient of the award for innovating practices, and data from the plant now shows 2020 electricity usage has been the lowest in the past six years. ....

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (
BMC), which is the richest civic body in the country, on Wednesday unveiled its Rs 39,038.83 crore
budget for the year 2021-22. The total budget estimates for the next financial year are 16.74 per cent more than the last fiscal, when it had presented a budget of Rs 33,441.02 crore.
During 2021-22, the proposed capital expenditure is Rs.18,750 crore. From this, work of various STP projects, coastal road, GMLR, Hydro - Solar Power Project at Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Middle Vaitarna Dam, desalination project, rejuvenation of Mithi river, rejuvenation of Dahisar, Poisar and Walbhat rivers, upgradation of Deonar Abattoir, 12 bridges over railway, six new bridges, and upgradation of five hospitals will be undertaken. ....
