December 18, 2020 1:13 pm PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo announced, during her weekly briefing Friday afternoon, that the current pause due to a spike in COVID-19 cases will end on Monday December 21. The governor cited improvement in a number of important metrics as a reason for letting the current pause expire. After many weeks of maintaining a path in the wrong direction, data for the state shows that R.I. is moving in the right direction. For the first time in over two months, all of the arrows are pointing down. The governor said the improvements come from hitting the pause button for three weeks, while Rhode Islanders followed through doing a fantastic job during that time with a real decline in mobility. ....
CNN reporting last week from the RI Convention Center Last week, in a live broadcast from Providence’s Convention Center, CNN reported the exploding levels of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations in Rhode Island, as the state achieved the world’s #1 ranking for level of infection, a result that was not unexpected. Governor Raimondo attributed the rising infection rates to her inability to communicate the risks and motivate compliance with health and safety measures, stating at a recent press briefing “I have been utterly ineffective at getting people to follow the rules in their homes.” She is not alone in her frustration as Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker also attributed the dangerous spike in COVID-19 infections to unsafe informal indoor gatherings. “No one wants to be lectured to, and I get that,” Governor Baker said. “But there is a legit cause and effect thing going on here.” ....

December 17, 2020 4:37 pm , PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A statement was just released from from Governor Raimondo’s office regarding the Pfizer vaccine in the state. The statement reads: “Yesterday, the Rhode Island Department of Health learned that the state’s allocation of the Pfizer vaccine for Week 2, beginning 12/21, was reduced from 10,725 to 6,825 doses. We have heard accounts of similar reductions in other states, and no clear explanation has been provided by Operation Warp Speed. We are calling on the Trump administration to honor its commitments and provide the full allocation to Rhode Island. In the meantime, we are continuing to distribute the vaccine as quickly as possible to our frontline healthcare workers, and we are evaluating the impact of these reductions on our vaccination planning.” ....
(AP Photo/Steven Senne, File) Now, out of Rhode Island comes this story: Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo believes that her orders are only for the common folk, as she was seen out at a wine and paint night at a Providence area bodega. What is worse is that she was seen maskless in close quarters with other attendees, creating a firestorm of outrage at her hypocritical behavior. As you can see, people were not only shocked, but they were not happy with the Governor ignoring her own order. Of course, the Governor had some excuse about “sharing tools,” and completely ignores that she violated her own mask order. People have praised the Governor for her action against the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, however many of those people have been silent since this issue was exposed. What remains clear is that most Democrats only issue the orders they do so they appear that they are doing something about COVID-19, when in reality they don’t believe their own orders. ....
