Suffolk DA: Texas Man Indicted for Allegedly Stalking East Islip Woman He Met Online

Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D. Sini and the Suffolk County Police Department have announced the indictment of a Texas man for allegedly stalking an East Islip woman he met online and for the criminal possession of a loaded weapon upon his arrest.
 
“This is a highly disturbing case, and it highlights a common thread we see in many of our cases in which offenders initiate contact with victims over social media under the guise of friendship and end up causing them harm in some way – whether it’s through harassment, like in this case; sextortion; or even rape,” District Attorney Sini said. “This is a good reminder that people need to be extremely cautious about the people they are communicating with online, and I urge any residents receiving threatening or concerning messages to report it to law enforcement. Suffolk DA: Manorville Man Indicted In Connection With Shootings Of Businesses, Residence, Hate Crimes

Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D. Sini has announced the indictment of a Manorville man in connection with five shootings throughout Suffolk County in 2020 as well as the alleged harassment of several victims via telephone and social media. The alleged harassment includes messages that were anti-Semitic and anti-LGBTQ in nature, which have been charged as hate crimes.
 
“This defendant is an alleged menace who has terrorized a number of individuals in our community based on his perception of their religion and their sexual orientation,” District Attorney Sini said. “He allegedly harassed numerous victims; he shot a gun into a residence and several establishments throughout Suffolk County; he vandalized cars; and he repeatedly sent extremely disturbing messages to his victims on social media that have caused them to fear for their lives and the safety of their loved ones. SCPD & Crime Stoppers To Highlight Unsolved Cases During National Crime Victims' Rights Week

The Suffolk County Police Department and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers will highlight several unsolved cases on the department’s social media pages during National Crime Victims’ Rights week from April 18 through April 24.
 
Crime Stoppers is offering fast-cash rewards for information leading to an arrest in each of the cases. The rewards will be issued within 72 hours of an arrest.
 
Crime Stoppers has been proven to be an effective crime solving program since its inception in Suffolk County in 1994. During that time, more than $665,000 has been rewarded to tipsters who reported information anonymously and close to 2,800 arrests have been made. ....
