TUSCALOOSA, AL Local officials in Tuscaloosa say a new $6 million mental health crisis diversion center proposed by Gov. Kay Ivey would prove an invaluable asset to a county where resources are stretched thin.

TUSCALOOSA, AL A bill filed this week by state Sen. Gerald Allen, a Republican from Tuscaloosa, proposes an amendment to the state constitution that would require majority support in a referendum vote by municipalities in Tuscaloosa County before any future sales or use tax increases could be implemented.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - The city of Tuscaloosa was one the first Alabama cities to impose restrictions to protect people from coronavirus. Tuscaloosa’s mayor now says he wants more support from neighboring municipalities before taking similar actions in the future.
“Right now, each municipality is acting alone I guess you would say,” Northport Mayor Bobby Herndon said.
He says his city, Tuscaloosa, and Tuscaloosa County are each working to protect people from coronavirus, even if they aren’t doing some things together. ....

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - The Tuscaloosa County Commission made a decision that could help spur the county’s economy and also support transportation on a road that is about to experience a lot more traffic.
Commissioners voted to pay $64,000 for engineering work on Will Walker Road. This will support a sequencing facility Mercedes Benz will use in the construction of electric cars that will be built at the plant.
The project will reconfigure about a thousand feet of road near M-Class boulevard. Soon a lot more traffic will be going back and forth from there. ....
