Jury Sentences Convicted Murderer Joseph Alliniece To Death

CLEVELAND COUNTY, Oklahoma -
After two weeks of testimony, and 5 hours of deliberation a jury sentenced Joseph Alliniece to death for the 2018 murder of Brittani Young.
The state and defense teams gave their closing arguments to jurors Friday morning. The jury began deliberations around 1 p.m.
The state highlighted the brutality of Young s killing. In 2018, Alliniece reportedly stomped on Young’s head, which killed her.
The attorney listed off each injury Young sustained while holding up both autopsy pictures and the shoe Alliniece wore the day he killed Young. The prosecutor matched the pattern on the sole to bruising shown in the pictures. ....

Prosecutors Seek Death Penalty For Convicted Murderer

State prosecutors preset Joseph Alliniece’s long history of violence to jurors in hopes of getting the maximum sentence.
Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn told the jury about numerous convictions, stints in jail, and what prosecutors said is a history of hurting those close to him.
“He is a continuing threat and the violence that he’s committed in the past,” said Mashburn.
The state laid out the three reasons, or aggravating factors, they said warrant the death penalty during opening arguments Tuesday.
Alliniece’s mother and sister shared what his childhood was like.
They said he was well liked, athletic, he even received a scholarship for football. But his sister also talked about some issues. ....

Cleveland County jury finds Texas man guilty of first-degree murder

A jury found a Texas man guilty of first-degree murder and three other counts Monday afternoon in Cleveland County District Court.
The jury gave its decision to the court in the case of Joseph Fidel Alliniece,Â 32, of Missouri City, Texas, after about 90 minutes of deliberation. He was found guilty of the murder of Norman resident Brittani Young, 27, two counts of kidnapping and robbery by force or fear on April 24, 2018.
According to reports, Norman police responded shortly after Young s death inside a residence at the Emerald Greens Apartments. Alliniece had fled the scene, and a search ensued. That night, Alliniece was found and arrestedÂ by Oklahoma City Police Department officers, then brought to Norman for questioning. ....

The third day of Joseph Alliniece’s murder trial can be best described as a rollercoaster.
The first half focused on police taking Alliniece into custody. The state’s first three witnesses of the day all took part in the arrest.
Two were Oklahoma City police officers who took Alliniece into custody. One first spotted the suspect, the other put the handcuffs on him and transported him to a handoff site to meet a Norman police officer. The third witness was that Norman officer, who then drove Alliniece to investigators for processing.
All of the officers wore body cams, which showed Alliniece cooperating with police. ....
