Dogs rescued from U.P. explosion ready for adoption Updated Jan 07, 2021; Posted Jan 07, 2021 Jerky, shown here, is one of the dogs that was rescued from an explosion at an Upper Peninsula residence. She was one of the first seven to be adopted, out of the 47 rescued. Many of them are healing from burn wounds and smoke inhalation at Mackinac County Animal Shelter. The explosion occurred on Nov. 26, 2020, at a residence in Hessel, Mich.
