Following debate, Superior council extends state of emergency
The resolution to extend the city s state of emergency through February passed by a vote of 8-2.

Mayor Jim Paine may have wanted a unified front in declaring a state of emergency in response to the pandemic.
He did not get it, but a majority of councilors voted in favor of it Tuesday, Dec. 15.
“This is substantially similar to the very first resolution that I proposed to you in March, except the paragraph that I think all of you will have seen by now,” he said. “It’s declaring that we will join other partners at the state and local level in any emergency orders that they issue and lend our enforcement ability to a combined effort to protect the public.” ....
