Disgust as fly-tippers dump large pile of waste by Grantham Canal

Fly-tippers illegally dumped a huge pile of rubbish including nursery furniture, cuddly toys and soiled nappies alongside Grantham Canal.
South Kesteven District Council has launched an investigation after removing the rubbish from Denton Wharf by the canal after it was dumped last week, and checking for evidence of who may have left it.
Catherine Smith reported the pile of waste to the council after coming across it while walking her dog. She said: “I really hate littering and anyone disrespecting the environment.”

Electric car charging points installed in Grantham car park

Four electric vehicle charging points are up and running in Grantham’s Welham Street car park.
South Kesteven District Council secured a £45,000 Government grant from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles and contributed the remaining £18,000 of the installation costs.
As part of the grant conditions the charging point spaces will be available for residents to use overnight.

SKDC’s cabinet member for commercial and operations Councillor Peter Moseley said: “We’re keen to encourage greater use of electric vehicles and these charging points will help give residents and businesses the confidence to invest in them. ....
