April 23, 2021 HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Two future Huskers were back in action on Friday night in the Final Four of the 2021 NJCAA men’s basketball championship at Hutchinson Sports Arena. 2021 Nebraska signee Keisei Tominaga and No. 13-seed Ranger (Texas) College took on No. 8 Cowley (Kan.) College, while 2022 NU commit Blaise Keita and No. 10 Coffeyville (Kan.) C.C. faced No. 6 Chipola (Fla.) College. Tominaga and Ranger saw their season come to an end in a 116-97 defeat, but Keita and the Ravens advanced to the title game with a 66-63 victory. April 20, 2021 HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Blaise Keita hauled in an offensive rebound and followed with an easy jump-hook to put Coffeyville (Kan.) up by 20 over Southwest Tennessee CC midway through the second half. Southwest Tennessee called a timeout, and one of its players gave an interesting – if not a bit hyperbolic – evaluation of Coffeyville’s 6-foot-10, 235-pound freshman center. “Man, Blaise is tougher than Shaq in there,” the player said told his coach. Keita’s final stat line was modest in the Ravens’ dominating 89-62 win over SWTCC in the first round of the 2021 NJCAA men’s basketball championship on Monday. The 2022 Nebraska commit finished with seven points on 3-of-4 shooting and a team-high nine rebounds in 19 minutes. ....
February 15, 2021 Hours after pulling off its first Big Ten Conference win of the season at Penn State, Nebraska secured its first commitment of the 2022 class. Blaise Keita, a 6-foot-10, 235-pound forward/center at junior college powerhouse Coffeyville (Kan.) C.C. announced his pledge to the Huskers on Monday morning. He chose NU over other offers from Baylor, Minnesota, Tennessee, Arizona State, and Oklahoma State. Nebraska picked up a commitment from 2022 Coffeyville (Kan.) C.C. center Blaise Keita on Monday morning. A 21-year-old native of Mali, Africa, who attended Sunrise Christian (Kan.) Academy, Keita is averaging 12.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game for Coffeyville this season. ....
